As a potential client, please read the following terms of service carefully. You will be asked to accept them before work can begin. Hereafter, the term ‘client’ refers primarily to the main point of contact, their business, and any other stakeholders involved in the project.
Stock resources
nstudio maintains a subscription to unsplash.com. This is a website full of high quality stock photography and illustrations with which to quickly populate your collateral at no extra cost. Where needed, we can make use of other stock websites. Any related expenses potentially incurred by nstudio will be discussed with the client before purchase, and then billed at cost. Clients should be aware that purchased resources (such as fonts, imagery, audio) usually cannot be shared with the client without the purchase of additional licensing.
Where the client provides resources to a project, it is their responsibility to ensure that they have the licensing to use them. nstudio cannot be held liable for any claims resulting from unlicensed material.
Ownership
It is assumed that nstudio will be free to use any resulting content from a project for promotional purposes on social media and on nstudio.uk. Clients have the right to refuse this, or to request other measures such as anonymity.
Exported files are delivered to the client upon conclusion of the project. Working files (such as InDesign documents) remain the property of nstudio, and will incur a fee for release to the client. All files are securely backed up and retrievable at a later date.
Fees
Estimates are available upon request, where a scope of work has been agreed. Hours are billed at a rate of £35 and a quotation is calculated based upon the expected time and resources involved. Figures stated are not binding where the scope of a project changes significantly. As work progresses, any forseeable impact upon the budget will be discussed with the client.
Standard payment terms are 30 days from the date of invoice. nstudio reserves the right to charge statutory interest upon late payments, which equates to 8%, plus the Bank of England base rate for business-to-business transactions.
Proofing
The client will be provided with digital files throughout the design process to inspect their content. nstudio cannot accept liability for losses incurred from incorrect content. To avoid a situation of this nature, the client is expected to proof-read and otherwise carefully check a project before final approval/sign-off.
Any changes or corrections should be communicated to nstudio with clarity; and their implementation checked by the client in the following iteration of the file(s).
AI
nstudio believes in transparency with this technology and will inform the client where it has been used. The general approach to AI is to make use of it in manners that improve efficiency and save time. For nstudio, AI is not to be used as a substitute for human creativity, judgment, or effort.
Note that clients are forbidden from running nstudio design output through any AI model. Please also be sure to check any AI generated textual content. Models are known to confidently make things up or hallucinate!
